Plum Pudding

  1. Mix shortening, molasses, beaten eggs, and fruit juice in one bowl.
  2. Sift dry ingredients in another bowl.
  3. Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients.
  4. Add fruit and mix thoroughly.
  5. Pour into a well greased 2-quart mold.
  6. Cover tightly.
  7. Steam 4-5 hours.
  8. Serve piping hot with hard sauce.
