Herbed Kasha Pilaf Recipe
- 1 med. onion, minced
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/3 c. coarsely grnd uncooked kasha
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/3 c. long grain rice
- 2 teaspoon instant beef or possibly chicken granules
- 1/2 teaspoon dry basil, crushed
- 2 tbsp. snipped parsley
- Cook onion in butter till tender, not brown.
- Stir uncooked kasha and egg together.
- Add in to butter and onion and stir till each grain is coated.
- Stir in water, rice, beef or possibly chicken bouillon granules and basil.
- Bring to boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer till tender, about 15 min.
- Stir in snipped parsley.
- Serves 4.
