Fried Apples
- 2 12 cups apple juice
- 4 large golden delicious apples, unpeeled and cut into wedges
- 14 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 14 teaspoon ground allspice
- In a large skillet, combine the apple juice and sliced apples.
- Set over medium heat and cook until the apples are fork-tender, turning often for even cooking (be careful not to overcook the apples).
- Remove the apples from the juice with a slotted spoon and place in a bowl.
- In another bowl, combine the remaining ingredients; stir with a whisk until well blended.
- Pour the hot apple juice mixture into the dry ingredients.
- Whisk vigorously until the lumps are gone.
- Pour this mixture back into the skillet and heat over medium heat, whisking constantly, until bubbly and thick.
- Remove from heat and pour over the apples in the bowl.
- Stir until the apples are evenly coated.
