Squaw Bread
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1 tsp. honey
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/3 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1-3/4 cup milk, room temperature
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 1-1/2 cup rye flour
- 2-1/2 cup regular flour
- 1-1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- Mix yeast, honey and warm water.
- Let sit until yeast is dissolved.
- Process the honey, raisins, and brown sugar in a food processor or mix very thoroughly with spoon.
- Add to yeast mixture.
- Add milk, butter and salt.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Add flours.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Blend as normal for bread, and knead, let rise, punch down, and shape into two roundloaves.
- Bake at 375F about thirty minutes.
