Biscuits Made With Yeast Recipe
- 5 c. plain flour, sifted
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. hot water
- 2 c. buttermilk
- Cream sugar and shortening.
- Add in flour and mix till very fine.
- Dissolve yeast in 1/2 c. hot water for 5 min.
- Add in yeast and water and buttermilk all at once.
- Mix till dough forms.
- Knead dough lightly about 20 times.
- Lightly grease a 10 x 3 inch pan.
- Allow to rise 1 1/2 hrs.
- Roll out and form into biscuits.
- Place on pan.
- Bake 10-15 min at 400 degrees or possibly till golden on top.
