Basmati Rice Pilaf Recipe

  1. Place the margarine in a pot over med heat.
  2. When melted, add in the pepper and asafoetida
  3. Add in the rice and fry for several min, turning the mix constantly.
  4. In a separate pot, boil the water.
  5. Add in the cinnamon, peas, raisins, cardamon pods and salt.
  6. When the water boils, add in the rice.
  7. Boil for 2 mon, then cover and turn on low heat for 5-8 minutes
  8. Uncover and let stand for 3 minutes.
  9. Fluff and serve.
