Bunya And Bacon Quiche Recipe
- 1 c. Self raising flour
- 1/2 c. Chopped cooked Bunya Nuts
- 2 Tbsp. Butter or possibly margarine
- 1 Tbsp. Minced parsley
- 1 pch Salt
- 1 x Squeeze lemon juice Water
- 4 x Large eggs
- 1/2 c. Light cream or possibly lowfat milk
- 1/2 c. Grated cheese
- 3 x Bacon rashers, (minced)
- 1 1/2 c. Chopped boiled Bunya Nuts
- 1 pch nutmeg Paprika Salt and pepper
- Pastry:Combine flour, Bunya Nuts, parsley and salt.
- Rub in butter.
- Add in lemon juice and sufficient cool water to mix to a hard consistency.
- Roll out pastry to fit tart plate or possibly flan dish.
- Prick all over with fork and cook in moderate oven for 10 min.
- Remove and cold.
- Filling:Sprinkle bacon and cheese in tart shell.
- Beat Large eggs, cream and nutmeg together.
- Fold in Bunya Nuts.
- Add in salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour over bacon and cheese.
- Cook in a moderate oven for 40 min, or possibly till filling is hard.
- Garnish with paprika.
- Serves 6.
