Nif's Nothing Fancy Crock Pot Stew (With a Secret Ingredient)
- 3 -4 lbs stewing beef, cubed
- 1 (10 ounce) can mushrooms, drained
- 1 (1 1/4 ounce) package Lipton Onion Soup Mix
- 1 cup ginger ale, Canda Dry's my favourite
- 2 tablespoons flour (optional)
- Place stewing beef in crock pot.
- Stir in mushrooms, soup mix and ginger ale.
- Cook over low for 6-7 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
- You can cook it longer without a problem.
- Times may vary depending on your crock pot's temperature.
- I have thrown frozen beef cubes in and cooked for 8-9 hours with great results.
- IF YOU WANT THICKER GRAVY: When done, scoop a cup into the gravy and mix the flour in the cup until completely dissolved.
- Pour back into the crock pot and heat, covered, over high until thickened, approximately 15 minutes.
- You can serve over cooked potatoes and veggies.
- You can also add baby potatoes and veggies to the crock pot for the last 2 hours of cooking the stew.
