Sweet-And Sour Red Cabbage

  1. Place cabbage and 2 cups water in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, cover, reduce heat, and simmer 5 to 8 minutes or until crisp tender.
  3. Drain; set maside.
  4. Cook bacon in a skillet until crisp.
  5. Drain bacon on paper towels, reserving 1 tbls.
  6. drippings in skillet.
  7. Crumble bacon; set aside.
  8. Add brown sugar and flour to drippings in skillet; stir until smooth.
  9. Gradually add vinegar and 1/3 cup water, stirring until smooth.
  10. Add onion and remaining ingredients; cook 5 minutes or until slightly thickened; stirring frequently.
  11. Stir in cabbage and bacon.
  12. Cool.
