Glazed Lemon Bread Recipe

  1. Blend the butter and 1 c. sugar well.
  2. Beat in Large eggs, 1 at a time.
  3. Add in almond extract.
  4. Sift together the dry ingredients and add in to egg mix, alternating with lowfat milk.
  5. Blend just to mix.
  6. Mix in peels and nuts.
  7. Turn into a greased 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 2 3/4" glass bread pan.
  8. Bake in slow oven (325 degrees) for 70 min.
  9. If you use a metal pan, increase temperature to 350 degrees.
  10. Mix lemon juice and 1/4 c. sugar.
  11. Immediately spoon over warm loaf.
  12. Cold 10 min.
  13. Remove from pan and cold on a rack.
