Spice'N' Nut Thumbprints

  1. Preheat oven to 350F (180C).
  2. Cream butter and sugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  4. Add 1/2 of flour; mix well.
  5. Add remaining flour, nuts and cinnamon; mix well.
  6. Shape dough into 1 inch balls.
  7. Place 1 inch apart on unbuttered cookie sheets.
  8. Lightly press center of each ball with thumb, or the handle of a wooden spoon, leaving cup-like indention.
  9. Fill each indention with about 1/4 teaspoons jam.
  10. Bake 18 min.
  11. or until lightly browned around edges.
  12. Transfer to wire racks; cool completely.
