Cook First Ground Beef Mix

  1. Heat large nonstick skillet or pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Add half of the beef; cook, stirring to break up meat, for 5 minutes or until no longer pink.
  3. Drain in colander.
  4. Repeat with remaining beef.
  5. Heat olive oil in large deep fry pan.
  6. Add onion and green pepper; saute for 8 minutes or until softened.
  7. Add garlic and oregano or seasonings to taste; saute for 2 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat.
  9. Stir in cooked beef.
  10. Cool slightly.
  11. Divide into fourths (about 4 cups each) or recipe size portions as desired.
  12. Pack in plastic freezer bags or freezer storage containers; label and date; freeze for up to 3 months.
  13. Thaw in refrigerator.
