Cream Pie Recipe

  1. Mix cornstarch, 2/3 c. sugar and salt; gradually add in lowfat milk.
  2. Cook in double boiler till thick, about 10 min, stirring constantly.
  3. Slowly add in small amount of warm mix to egg yolks; stir into remaining warm mix.
  4. Cook 5 min.
  5. Cold; add in butter and vanilla.
  6. Pour into cooled baked shell and spread with meringue made of egg whites and 6 Tbsp.
  7. sugar.
  8. Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, 12 to 15 min.
