Gegrillte Bratwurst (Grilled Bratwurst)

  1. Place bratwursts, beer, onion, peppercorns, and cloves in a 3 quart saucepan.
  2. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. Drain.
  4. Grill bratwursts 2 to 5 inches from charcoal about 10 minutes, until browned.
  5. Sprinkle with water to form a crisp skin.
  6. Serve in hard rolls with Dusseldorf style mustard.
