Buckingham Palace Scones Variant Recipe
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 pch salt
- 3/4 c. butter
- 1 Tbsp. baking pwdr
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 x egg
- 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- Cut together butter, flour, salt and baking pwdr.
- Add in sugar.
- Make well in center of the mix; add in egg and small amount of lowfat milk.
- If mix appears to be too dry, add in more lowfat milk.
- Blend to a nice, smooth dough.
- Put half the dough in 8 x 11 baking pan.
- Covered the dough with Black Current Preserves and used the last half of the dough to cover the preserves.
- Bake in 350-degree F oven for 10-15 min.
- Center of bottom should be lightly colored.
- Serve warm.
