Buckingham Palace Scones Variant Recipe

  1. Cut together butter, flour, salt and baking pwdr.
  2. Add in sugar.
  3. Make well in center of the mix; add in egg and small amount of lowfat milk.
  4. If mix appears to be too dry, add in more lowfat milk.
  5. Blend to a nice, smooth dough.
  6. Put half the dough in 8 x 11 baking pan.
  7. Covered the dough with Black Current Preserves and used the last half of the dough to cover the preserves.
  8. Bake in 350-degree F oven for 10-15 min.
  9. Center of bottom should be lightly colored.
  10. Serve warm.
