Bamboo Shoot Shaped bread

  1. Place all the ingredients except for the butter in a bowl, and knead slightly.
  2. Add in the butter and knead for about 10 minutes.
  3. Set the dough to rise for about 40 minutes, shape it into a circle, and rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into 6 pieces.
  5. The portions should be a ratio of 3:1:1:1:1:1
  6. Create the center of the bamboo shoot using the largest piece of dough.
  7. To create the leaves of the bamboo shoot, shape the smaller dough pieces into 4 short triangles.
  8. Use the last dough piece to create a long rectangle to use as the base of the bamboo shoot.
  9. Wrap the triangle pieces around the central stem made in Step 3.
  10. Try to match the height of the triangles with the stem.
  11. Wrap the long rectangle shape around the base of the bamboo shoot.
  12. Let the bread rise a second time for about 20 minutes.
  13. Bake in a 200C oven for 12 minutes.
