Crispy Caramel Clusters Recipe

  1. Heat oven to 300 degrees.
  2. Heat caramels with water in heavy 2 1/2 to 3-qt saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently till smooth.
  3. Add in cereal and pecans; mix lightly till well coated.
  4. Spread into greased 15x10x2 inch baking pan.
  5. Bake 25 min, stirring after 15 min.
  6. Cold thoroughly; break apart.
  7. Makes about 10 c..
  8. MICROWAVE: Microwave caramels and water in medium microwave-safe bowl on high 1 1/2 min; stir.
  9. Continue microwaving 30 seconds to 1 minute or possibly till smooth, stirring every 30 seconds.
  10. Continue as directed.
  11. VARIATION: Add in 1/2 c. Baker's semi-sweet real chocolate chips to cooled cereal mix; mix lightly.
