robinmay's beef and potatoes with allspice
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 onion chopped
- 1 lb potatoes sliced pretty thin (i peel unless using baby reds)
- 1 can beer (can also use beef broth or even water)
- 1 to 2 tablesoons au jus seasoning packet
- 1 can grean beans drained (optional)
- 1 handful chopped fresh basil and parsely (optional)
- 1 salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp ground allspice (i like a little more)
- brown ground beef and drain
- slice potatoes and onions add to the ground beef
- cover with beer or other liquid of choice
- mix in allspice and au jus seasoning
- stir and bring to a boil
- once boiling reduce heat a bit
- let simmer till most of the liquid has evaporated ( u still want some liquid to remain as some what of a sauce)
- add green beans if you would like
- cook for 1 minute then take off the heat
- take off heat and add the chopped herbs if u would like
- taste and season with salt and pepper to your liking
