Buttermilk Whisky Pie
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1-1/4 cup sugar
- 2 T. flour
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 T. whiskey
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- zest of half a lemon
- 1 pastry crust
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Prepare single pastry crust and put in 9" pie plate.
- Cream together softened butter and sugar.
- Mix in remaining ingredients.
- Pour into crust and bake 45 minutes.
- I check them with an instant read thermometer to make sure they're 160 degrees in the middle.
- Wait until completely cool to slice.
- Best served room temperature with some whipped cream spiked with a dash of bourbon.
