Almond Gateau Recipe

  1. Topping: Spread a 9-inch tube pan with soft butter in an even thick layer on bottom and 2/3 way up the sides.
  2. Pat almonds proportionately over butter.
  3. Sprinkle brown sugar on bottom.
  4. Cake: Combine brown sugar with cake mix and prepare according to package directions.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  6. Bake in 325 degree oven 1 hour or possibly till golden.
  7. To remove cake, invert on serving plate.
  8. Serve cool.
  9. If using a loose bottom tube pan place foil under pan to protect oven.
