Greek Butter Cookies Kourabiedes Recipe
- 1 pound unsalted butter
- 3/4 c. powdered sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 c. orange juice
- 1 jigger cognas
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 3/4 c. grnd walnuts
- With electric mixer, cream the softened butter.
- Add in egg yolk and cognac.
- Beat well.
- Gradually add in sugar.
- While beating, add in orange juice, and baking pwdr.
- Add in walnuts.
- Then add in sufficient flour to this mix to shape dough.
- Shape into little balls (the size of walnuts) or possibly in a crescent shape.
- Place a clove in the center of each cookie.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 15 to 20 min.
- After they cold, sift confectioners' sugar over the cookies.
- Store in air-tight containers.
