Green Bean Casserole Recipe
- 1 med. onion
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 cans French style green beans
- Bacon drippings
- 1 (8 ounce.) can water chestnuts, liquid removed
- 1 1/2 c. grated sharp cheese
- 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
- Ritz cracker crumbs
- Chop onion.
- Saute/fry in butter till tender.
- Cook green beans with a small amount of bacon drippings till most of the liquid has evaporated.
- slice water chestnuts and add in to beans.
- Mix onions, grated cheese and mushroom soup with beans.
- Pour into casserole.
- Sprinkle Ritz cracker crumbs over top.
- Bake at 350 degrees till bubbly.
- Serves 8.
