Basic Chinese Gravy Recipe
- 1 c. chicken bouillon
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon monosodium glutamate
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 tbsp. cool water
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- Pour bouillon in a small saucepan and heat to boiling.
- Add in sugar, soy sauce and MSG.
- Blend cornstarch and water; stir the mix into bouillon and cook, stirring constantly till thickened.
- Add in the remaining ingredients and stir well.
- Makes about 1 c..
