Heart Attacks on a Stick

  1. Cut strips of bacon in half.
  2. Stretch the room temperature bacon and wrap each half around a bread stick.
  3. In this recipe, I used sesame seed bread sticks and garlic bread sticks.
  4. Line a microwave-safe tray with a paper towel.
  5. Lay the bacon-wrapped bread sticks on the paper towel, making sure they do not touch each other.
  6. Cover with another piece of paper towel.
  7. Microwave for 4 to 5 minutes or until the bacon is crisp.
  8. Remove immediately and drop into a Ziploc baggie with the parmesan cheese.
  9. Shake until sticks are covered with cheese.
  10. Do this until you run out of bread sticks.
  11. You will have cheese and bacon left over.
  12. The cheese is great sprinkled over salads if kept in the fridge.
  13. Allow the bread sticks to cool before serving.
  14. These delicious sticks will last about one week when refrigerated in an airtight container.
