Banana Pie Recipe
- 100 gm Cadbury's Bournville chocolate
- 175 gm Butter, (6oz)
- 225 gm Rich Tea biscuits, (8oz)
- 200 ml Creme Fraiche or possibly 200g cream cheese
- 2 x Ripe bananas
- 5 ml Lemon juice, (1 tsp)
- 50 gm Caster sugar, (2oz)
- 2 x Large eggs, size 2
- 40 gm Self raising flour, (11/2oz)
- 2 1/2 ml Vanilla essence, (1/2 tsp)
- 100 gm Cadbury's Bournville chocolate
- 142 ml Double cream, (1/2 pint)
- 1 x Hard banana Lemon juice A 23cm, (9 inch) flan tin
- Heat the chocolate with the butter, stir in crushed biscuits.
- Press crust into the tin.
- Bake at Gas Mark 4, 180 C, 350 F for 15 min.
- Meanwhile, beat cheese till smooth, then beat in squashed bananas, lemon juice, sugar, Large eggs, flour and essence, continuing till smooth and thick.
- Pour filling onto crust, bake for a further 30-35 min till hard; cold.
- For topping, slowly heat chocolate in the cream then cold slightly before pouring over the pie.
- Refrigeratetill required.
- Decorate with banana slices dipped in lemon juice.
