Vision Cake With Seven-Minute Icing

  1. Cream the eggs and the sugar together.
  2. Add in the flour, salt and the baking powder.
  3. Boil the milk and add in the melted butter.
  4. Add the hot milk into the dry flour mixture.
  5. Add in the vanilla.
  6. Pour the cake batter into a 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
  7. Bake at 400 degrees (200 C.) for 10 minutes.
  8. Then reduce the heat down to 350 degrees (175 C.) and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
  9. Ice the cake with the Seven-Minute Icing.
  10. Combine the egg whites, salt, white Karo Syrup, sugar, and the water togther in top of a double boiler.
  11. Beat for one minute.
  12. Place the mixture over boiling water and cook.
  13. Beat the Seven-Minute Icing until it forms stiff peaks which will take about seven minutes.
  14. Add in the vanilla.
  15. Beat the Seven-Minute Icing about two minutes more until the Seven-Minute Icing is fluffy.
  16. Spread the Seven-Minute Icing on the cake.
