Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup Fries
- 48 slices white bread slices
- 48 slices Darifarm Ribbon Sliced Process Cheese
- 1-1/2 cups butter, softened
- frozen french fried potatoes Target 2 For $5.00 thru 02/06
- 3 qt. canned condensed tomato soup, prepared as directed on label
- 2-1/4 cups Cheez Whiz Cheese Spread
- 3/4 cup green onions, sliced
- Make 24 sandwiches (or 2 sandwiches for trial recipe), using 2 bread slices and 2 cheese slices for each sandwich.
- Spread outside of each sandwich evenly with 1 Tbsp.
- (15 mL) butter.
- Refrigerate until ready to grill.
- For each portion, 2 servings: Grill 2 sandwiches on 350 degrees F flat-top grill 1 to 2 min.
- on each side or until golden brown on both sides.
- Meanwhile, deep fry 3 oz.
- (85 g) french fries as directed on package; drain.
- Ladle 1 cup (250 mL) hot soup into shallow bowl.
- Drizzle with 3 Tbsp.
- (45 mL) Cheez Whiz; swirl gently.
- Cut sandwiches into 4 (1-inch-wide) strips; stand 4 strips in centre of each bowl of soup.
- Stand 3 oz.
- (85 g) french fries around sandwich strips in each bowl; sprinkle with 1 Tbsp.
- (15 mL) onions.
