Pasta with Tomatoes and Bread Crumbs

  1. First, make the bread crumbs.
  2. Tear a piece of bread into small pieces and toast at 350 degrees F for about five to ten minutes.
  3. Crumble the bread into crumbs.
  4. Next, heat up the water for your pasta.
  5. When it comes to a boil, add your pasta and cook as long as the package instructs.
  6. While that is boiling, cook the garlic in a medium saucepan in a little olive oil until just fragrant.
  7. Add your halved tomatoes to the pan and cook until they begin to release juice.
  8. Reserve a cup of pasta water.
  9. And then add the drained, cooked, pasta to the tomato mixture.
  10. Add the reserved pasta water to adjust the consistency of the sauce to your liking.
  11. Stir in the bread crumbs and the cheese just before serving.
