Beef Cheese Main Dish Recipe
- 1-1 1/4 lbs. grnd beef
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 1/2 c. green pepper
- 2 (8 ounce.) cans tomato sauce
- 2 teaspoon chili pwdr
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic salt
- 2 (8 ounce.) cans refrigerated buttermilk or possibly country style biscuits
- 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 c. lowfat sour cream
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- In large frying pan, brown beef, onion and green pepper, drain.
- Stir in tomato sauce, chili pwdr and garlic salt.
- Simmer while preparing other ingredients.
- Separate 1 can of biscuits into 10 - then divide each biscuit again.
- (So you have a total of 20 from each can).
- Spread biscuits over the bottom of a greased 9 x 11 inch pan.
- Combine 1/2 c. cheese, all of lowfat sour cream and egg.
- Mix well.
- Remove the meat mix from heat.
- Stir in the lowfat sour cream mix.
- Spoon 1/2 of the mix over the biscuits.
- Open the 2nd can of biscuits and divide the same as the first can.
- Layer on top of the meat mix.
- Add in the remaining sauce over the 2nd layer of biscuits.
- Then sprinkle the remaining 1 c. of cheese over the top.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 min, till cheese is golden.
