Easy Cabbage Rolls Baked with Cheese
- 8 Cabbage leaves
- 200 to 250 grams Ground meat
- 1/2 Onion
- 4 slice Melting sliced cheese
- 2 tbsp Panko
- 2 tbsp Milk
- 1 Egg (medium)
- 1 Salt and pepper
- 1 dash Nutmeg (optional, if you have it)
- 2 tbsp Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce
- 2 tbsp Ketchup
- 2 tbsp Heavy Cream
- Finely chop the onion and put into a bowl.
- Combine the ingredients.
- Add the ground meat and panko to the bowl in Step 1, plus the ingredients.
- Mix together well, divide into 4 portions and form into balls.
- Choose large cabbage leaves.
- Boil them until tender.
- Shave off the thick core parts of the cabbage leaves, and flatten the leaves out.
- Layer 2 leaves together with some overlap.
- Put a portion of the meat mixture a bit lower than center on each pair of leaves, and wrap up tightly.
- Make 4 rolls.
- Put the cabbage rolls on a heatproof dish, leaving some space in between.
- Top with the sliced cheese and bake in a 180C oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
- Mix the ingredients together in a bowl.
- Transfer the cooked cabbage rolls to serving plates and pour the combined sauce over them.
- Sprinkle with parsley and you're done.
