SURE.JELL for Less or No Sugar Needed Recipes - Strawberry-Blueberry Freezer Jam
- 2-1/2 cups mashed strawberries (buy about 3 pt. fully ripe strawberries)
- 1-1/2 cups chopped blueberries (buy about 2 pt. fully ripe blueberries) Whole Foods 3 For $10.00 thru 02/09
- 3 cups sugar, measured into separate bowl
- 1 box SURE-JELL For Less or No Sugar Needed Recipes Premium Fruit Pectin
- 1 cup water
- Rinse clean plastic containers and lids with boiling water.
- Dry thoroughly.
- Mash strawberries thoroughly, one layer at a time.
- Measure exactly 2-1/2 cups mashed strawberries into large bowl.
- Stem blueberries and place in blender or food processor.
- Pulse to evenly chop.
- (Do not puree.)
- Measure exactly 1-1/2 cups chopped blueberries into bowl with strawberries; mix well.
- Place sugar in large saucepan.
- Stir in pectin until well blended.
- Stir in water.
- Bring mixture to boil on medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
- Boil and stir 1 min.
- Remove from heat.
- Immediately stir in prepared fruit.
- Stir 1 min.
- or until well blended.
- Fill all containers immediately to within 1/2 inch of tops.
- Wipe off top edges of containers; immediately cover with lids.
- Let stand at room temperature 24 hours.
- Jam is now ready to use.
- Store in refrigerator up to 3 weeks or freeze extra containers up to 1 year.
- Thaw in refrigerator before using.
