Sauteed Chicken Livers Recipe
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 pound chicken livers
- 3 tbsp. bacon drippings
- 1 lg. sliced onion
- 4 ounce. mushrooms
- 1 1/2 c. chicken broth or possibly bouillon
- 3 tbsp. vermouth or possibly sherry
- Mix flour, salt and pepper.
- Coat chicken livers with seasoned flour.
- Heat bacon drippings and quickly brown the chicken livers.
- Remove livers to side platter.
- Brown onion in bacon pan, till tender; then add in mushrooms, chicken bouillon and vermouth.
- Cook till slightly thickened, about 15-20 min.
- Return livers to pan and cook till warm.
- Serve over rice.
