Sausage Stuffed Shells Recipe
- 1 pound sweet Italian sausage
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 4 slices of bread, crumbled
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. minced fresh parsley or possibly 1 teaspoon diced parsley
- 2 jars (15 ounce.) spaghetti sauce
- 20 jumbo shells, preboiled & liquid removed
- 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- Parboil sausage in small amount of water 5 to 7 min, drain off fat.
- Fry onions and sausage till brown, add in egg, bread and parsley, mix well.
- Fill shells with sausage mix.
- Pour a portion of sauce in bottom of pan, arrange filled shells in pan and pour the rest of sauce over shells.
- Cover and bake 25 to 30 min, remove cover and sprinkle with grated cheese, bake an additional 10 min.
