Toasted Hazelnut Bars
- 12 cup butter, softened
- 2 (3 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 12 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 13 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 12 cups buttermilk
- 4 eggs
- 12 cup butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups toasted chopped hazelnuts
- sifted powdered sugar
- In a mixing bowl beat the 1/2 cup butter, cream cheese, brown sugar and 2 cups of the flour till well combined.
- With lightly floured hand pat mixture onto bottom and up sides of a 15 x 10 x 1" ungreased baking pan.
- Bake in a 350 degrees F.
- oven for 15 min.
- Meanwhile, beat together granulated sugar, the remaining 1/3 cup flour, buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt with an electric mixer on low speed till combined.
- Stir in nuts.
- Pour into crust.
- Bake in a 350 degree oven for 35 minutes or till golden.
- Cool, cut into bars and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Store in refrigerator.
