Grilled Lamb Steaks With Pikes Peak Barbecue Sauce

  1. In small pan heat olive oil.
  2. Saute minced onion and minced green pepper 2 to 3 minutes; stirring occasionally.
  3. Blend in chili sauce, orange juice or orange liqueur, brown sugar, orange zest and red pepper sauce.
  4. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Makes 1 3/4 cups.
  6. Ignite coals in barbecue.
  7. Grill steaks 4 inches from coals.
  8. Cook 5 minutes, turn and brush with barbecue sauce.
  9. Cook an additional 5 minutes, turn and brush with sauce.
  10. Cook lamb 2 to 3 minutes longer for medium-rare or until desired degree of doneness.
  11. Cut steaks into thirds and serve.
