Hearty Thai-style Rice
- 300 grams Ground pork (or pork/beef mix, ground chicken)
- 1/2 Minced onions
- 5 cm Minced carrots
- 2 rashers Minced bacon
- 2 clove Minced garlic
- 1 tsp Thinly sliced Japanese red chili pepper
- 1 tbsp Sesame oil
- 4 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 1/2 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp each Mirin and sake
- 1 Lettuce
- 1 one per serving Onsen tamago (poached egg in its shell) a fried egg with a runny yolk
- Heat sesame oil in a frying pan, and fry the red peppers and garlic.
- Once it's fragrant, add the onions and carrots, and continue frying.
- Once the onions have wilted, add the ground meat, and fry some more.
- Add the bacon once the meat browns, and cook together.
- Once everything is well fried, add the soy sauce, sugar, sake, and mirin, and boil down the liquid until a little juice remains.
- Scatter lettuce on a plate, arrange the rice, and add the ingredients.
- Add the onsen tamago or half-cooked egg on top.
- Mix it all up and enjoy!
