Mixed Grain Corn Bread Recipe
- 1 1/3 c. yellow cornmeal
- 2/3 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/4 c. wheat germ
- 2 tbsp. sesame seed
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp. soy grits (optional)
- 2 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 c. veg. oil
- 2 c. buttermilk
- Stir together cornmeal, flour, wheat germ, sesame seed, soy grits, baking pwdr, baking soda, and salt.
- Beat together egg and veg.
- oil; add in buttermilk.
- Stir buttermilk mix into dry ingredients, blending till moistened.
- Turn into one greased 9x9x2 inch cast iron skillet.
- Bake in oven for 25 min at 400 degrees.
