Bowl of Red -- Chili Con Carne
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 md. onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
- 2 cups beer
- 2 tbsp. chili powder
- 1-1/2 tbsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. crushed dried oregano
- 1 tbsp. Einar's Habanero Pepper Sauce
- 2 tbsp. Tabasco Green Pepper Sauce
- Cook the ground beef in a large pan over medium-high heat until brown, about 10 minutes.
- Break up the chunks.
- Pour off the fat.
- Add the onion and the garlic and cook for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, beer, seasonings and both of the hot sauces.
- Bring to a boil; turn down heat to a simmer and cover for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Add more beer if needed.
