Whole Wheat Waffle Recipe

  1. Stir together whole wheat flour, brown sugar, baking pwdr and salt.
  2. Combine well beaten Large eggs, lowfat milk and melted butter.
  3. Gradually stir egg mix into dry ingredients; beat till batter is smooth.
  4. Pour batter onto warm waffle iron; sprinkle with finely minced nuts.
  5. Bake.
  6. Makes 4 (10 inch) waffles.
  7. Serve topped with yogurt, lowfat sour cream or possibly whipped cream; fresh fruits, such as sliced and sugared strawberries, peaches and bananas; snipped raisins; and additional minced nuts.
