Rita's Angel Gingerbread

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Cream the sugar and shortening.
  3. Add the egg and blend well.
  4. Mix in the dry ingredients.
  5. When well-blended, stir in the boiling water.
  6. Pour into a greased loaf pan.
  7. Bake for about 35 minutes.
