HG's Cheesy Bac-Onion Burger

  1. In a small bowl, mix mayo with mustard until uniform.
  2. Cook bacon until crispy, either in a skillet over medium heat or on a microwave-safe plate in the microwave.
  3. (See package for cook time.)
  4. Place onion in a skillet sprayed with nonstick spray.
  5. Add 1/4 cup water, cover, and set heat to medium.
  6. Cook for 6 minutes.
  7. Uncover, and cook and stir until water has evaporated and onion has softened and lightly browned, about 3 minutes.
  8. Transfer onion to a small bowl, and cover to keep warm.
  9. If needed, clean skillet.
  10. Remove from heat, re-spray, and return to medium heat.
  11. Cook burger patty for about 4 minutes per side, until cooked through.
  12. Top patty with cheese and cook until melted, about 45 seconds.
  13. Split bun into halves, and place the cheese-topped patty on the bottom half.
  14. Break bacon in half, and place over the patty.
  15. Top with cooked onion.
  16. Spread the top half of the bun with mayo mixture, and place it over the onion.
  17. Eat up!
