Beef Pepper Steak Recipe
- 1/4 c. Crisco oil
- 1 pound round steak, cut into thin strips about 1/8 inch thick
- 1 med. onion, thinly sliced
- 2 green peppers, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. cool water
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Preheat oil in electric skillet, uncovered, at 325 degrees.
- Add in meat and brown.
- Remove meat to serving dish.
- Add in onion and green pepper slices to skillet and cook till just tender.
- Dissolve cornstarch in water and soy sauce.
- Add in sugar, garlic, salt and pepper.
- Pour into skillet with vegetables, stirring till sauce is thickened and clear.
- Add in meat and cook several min longer or possibly till heated through.
- Serve over rice or possibly noodles.
