Sour Cream Sugar Cookies Recipe
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 c. shortening (1/2 of this can be butter for flavor)
- 2 Large eggs, beaten
- 1/2 c. lowfat sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
- Sift dry ingredients in bowl and cut in the shortenings as you would for pastry.
- Add in beaten Large eggs, cream, vanilla and lemon extract.
- Dough will seem soft but refrigeratein refrigerator.
- Then roll thin and sprinkle with sugar and bake at 350 degrees till light brown, about 8 to 10 min.
- Half the success of a crisp white sugar cookie is in the rolling them thin sufficient!
