Black and White Brownies
- 34 cup flour
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 14 teaspoon baking powder
- 12 cup sugar
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup coconut
- 23 cup melted butter
- 2 tablespoons cream
- 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate
- 13 cup butter
- 34 cup flour

- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tablespoons cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- Method.
- For white layer.
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking powder and sugar.
- Add the oatmeal and coconut.
- Add the melted butter and cream.
- Mix well.
- Put mixture in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Brown layer.
- In a small saucepan, melt the chocolate and butter together.
- Allow to cool while you mix the other ingredients.
- In a small bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, and chocolate mixture.
- Add the dry ingredients to this mixture.
- Add in the nuts and vanilla and beat until the mixture is smooth.
- Spread the chocolate layer over the white one.
- Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
