Dry Yeast Rolls Recipe
- 1 pkg. Fleischmann's dry yeast
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 7/8 c. cool water
- 1 egg (leave egg to add in last)
- 3 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- Put yeast in 7/8 c. cool water to dissolve.
- Place shortening, sugar and salt in a large bowl.
- Add in the boiling water and stir till the shortening melts.
- Let cold a few min then stir in the yeast.
- Add in flour a little at a time while stirring.
- Beat the egg slightly and add in it stirring the mix well.
- Cover the bowl and place in refrigerator overnight.
- Make rolls out on floured board in time to allow 2 hrs for them to rise.
- Cut with a small biscuit cutter or possibly a glass.
- Bake in a 450 degree oven till brown.
