Slow Cooker Italian Meatballs

  1. Add beef, pork, onion, garlic, parsley, breadcrumbs, eggs and cheese to a large bowl.
  2. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  3. Mix with your hands until combined.
  4. Form into 1 or 2 inch meatballs.
  5. I made 24 meatballs.
  6. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  7. Broil meatballs on high until browned on each side.
  8. About 4-5 minutes on each side.
  9. Add meatballs to slow cooker.
  10. Top with crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, bay leaves, red pepper flakes and Italian seasoning.
  11. Cook on low for 4 hours.
  12. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  13. Serve warm with basil or parmesan cheese for serving, if desired.
