Crockpot Steel Cut Oatmeal
- 1 cup Steel Cut Oats
- 4- 1/2 cups Water
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- 1/2 cups Dried Fruit (raisins, Apricots Etc; Optional)
- Place all ingredients in a 2-quart slow cooker.
- Dont use a larger cooker, as this wont work well.
- Cover and cook on Low for 6-8 hours.
- Serve with milk.
- Add cinnamon, maple syrup and/or sugar to taste.
- Note: you can make this on a weekend, portion out into zip lock bags and refrigerate.
- Reheat in the microwave for a hearty weekday breakfast.
- Can also be frozen.
