Spaghetti with Italian Sausage and Garlic Bread
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 1 green bell pepper
- 1 onion
- 2 clove garlic
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. Black pepper
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 can tomato paste
- 5 basil leaves
- 2 tbsp. dried Italian seasoning
- 4 tbsp. red wine
- 1 lb. spaghetti
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large pot over medium-high heat, warm olive oil; add sausage, bell pepper, onion and garlic.
- Cook until sausage is browned and vegetables are tender, about 7 minutes, stirring.
- If using sausage links, remove casings first and break up into crumbles with a wooden spoon.
- Add salt and pepper and stir.
- Add the canned tomato products and basil leaves; simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add Italian seasoning and red wine; let simmer another 10 to 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions.
- Drain spaghetti and toss with the sauce.
- Serve garlic bread on the side.
