Red Earth Cake
- 1/2 cup crisco
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 tbsp cocoa
- 1 tsp red cake coloring
- 3 tbsp hot coffee
- 2 cup all purpose flour
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup sour milk with soda dissolved
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 box 8oz cream cheese
- 1 stick butter
- 4 cup powder sugar
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- preheat oven at 350F, also bake on 350
- cream the Crisco add sugar gradually, cream until fluffy.with electric mixer.
- beat in eggs, mix in Cocoa, red coloring and hot coffee until it forms a smooth paste
- now add to creamed mixture,
- sift flour, sift flour three times, with salt added.
- add flour alternately with milk.
- add vanilla, mix for 1 minutes or untill smooth.
- will make two pans 8 inch or 1 pan 13x9, or 1 10 inch fluted tube pan
- cream cheese Frosting
- With electric mixer, in Medium bowl add the cream cheese, blend until creamy, add butter and powder sugar, mix until fluffy, on medium, trun down to low add vanilla, mix for 15 seconds on high.
- place frosting in refrigerator for one hour.
- now ready to use
- this Cake should the refrigerator until ready to serve
