Imperial Palace General Tso's Chicken

  1. Mix chicken, soy sauce, and pepper.
  2. Stir in egg.
  3. Add cornstarch, and mix until chicken pieces are coated.
  4. Deep fry 7 or 8 chicken pieces at a time in 350 degree (175 C.) oil until chicken pieces are crispy.
  5. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Repeat until all chicken pieces are fried.
  7. Place small amount of oil (1 tsp (5 ml).)
  8. in wok and heat to 400 degrees (200 C.).
  9. Add onions and peppers, and stirfry about 30 seconds.
  10. Stir sauce mixture and add to wok.
  11. Cook until thick.
  12. If it gets too thick, add water to right consistency.
  13. Add chicken to wok and cook until all is hot and bubbly.
  14. Serve with fried or steamed rice.
